What We Believe

St. Matthias’ Episcopal Church exisitis to proclaim through Word and Sacrament, “Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today, and for ever.”

We are a Theologically Orthodox Parish in the Catholic Tradition of Anglicanism.  As such we believe:

God is one God, in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Jesus Christ is true God, and true man.
Jesus Christ died on the Holy Cross to save mankind from sin, death and devil.
Jesus Christ was bodily resurrected on the third day.
Jesus Christ will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead.
Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father.
God is present in his Word and Sacraments bestowing the forgiveness of sins
The Bible is the Inspired, Infallible and Inerrant Word of God.
